It is named a 'turquoise' because it undergoes the same mineral process as turuqoise does, but does not have the copper, iron, or zinc deposits in it that makes turquoise turn that gorgeous blue/green. The Native Americans call this stone 'White Buffalo' because they believe it is as rare, sacre, and pure as a white buffalo.
